Milos & Mykonos on Conde Nast’s Bucket List

category: Greece

The Cycladic “island of Aphrodite” gets the nod from Conde Nast’s editors, citing Sarakiniko Beach’s spectacular white cliffs and turquoise waters.

In an article titled “Where the Condé Nast Traveller editors are going on holiday this summer,” the renowned travel publication’s editors reveal their plans to visit “lively” Mykonos as well as “quieter” Milos this year.

Conde Nast Journalist Sophie Knight wrote: “Milos has been on my bucket list for years, and this summer I’m finally visiting. I’m drawn to the chalky white cliffs and turquoise waters off Sarakiniko Beach. First off, we’ll fly into Mykonos, the more lively of the Cyclades islands. We’ve reserved beds for the day at Scorpios beach club where we’ll be sipping sundowners to the sound of the sea and resident DJs. Later on in the week, we’ll get the three and a half hour ferry to the quieter volcanic island of Milos. There’s plenty of spots to visit, craggy cliffs with secret cove beaches and colourful, sleepy fishing villages. Between exploring, indulging in fresh seafood and boating around, I’ll be spending my fair share of time flopped on a sun bed lapping up the rays.”

Apart from the enthusiastic coverage it has received from the leading British travel publication, Milos can also expect to benefit from recently being voted as a prime destination for having one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, by readers of The Guardian newspaper. In the report, in which readers shared their personal impressions and sentiments on Greek landscapes, Milos significantly stood out from other Cycladic island destinations.
